He Is Risen!

Posted on April 2, 2012 in Devotionals

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.  Matthew 28: 5-7 (King James)

He Is Risen! There’s so much power, hope and love in those three words.  When Jesus rose from the dead, He stripped Satan of any power giving us authority over our lives and circumstances in his mighty name.  Just before he ascended to heaven, Jesus said,  All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 28:18-19).

The miraculous lesson of Jesus’ death and resurrection is that those who believe in Him are released from their death penalty and invited to spend eternity with God.  This is what makes the cross’ power life-changing.  He gave us the authority to do the same works as he did in His earthly ministry of healing the sick and speaking to circumstances and watching them change.

So what are you doing with the power and amazing message of God’s love? If you’ve accepted the Lord as your Savior, you have power over the enemy as one of the benefits purchased for you on Calvary.  God is willing  to show himself strong and able through His people according to their faith. As you meditate on the significance of what we call Easter, keep in mind that resurrection power isn’t just in Jesus’ hands; it’s in yours too. Claim the authority that rightfully belongs to you and celebrate the resurrection’s power every day!
